    Omg best Vietnamese food ever in downtown!!!!

    Delicious food, great service, and our waiter

    When looking for authentic Vietnamese outside of Chinatown, Cali is the spot. I was really extremely surprised at how good everything was since it's in the heart of Midtown.

    We got BBQ pork vermicelli and two Banh Mi's. They were all extremely good and spot on with flavor.

    I'll be here again and again, I'll be here a bunch. It would have 5 stars if parking was better and the store was a bit more "comfortable".

    Cali Sandwich & Fast Food is God's gift to an east downtowner that loves Chinatown food but hates the drive. Seriously, this place is just as ~delicoious and ~cheap as your fav Bellaire Viet eateries BUT much more convenient for those of us that live downtown/midtown.  

    Banh Mi's are ringing in around $3.75 and vermicelli is barely tipping over $7. Did I mention it's delicious?

    Only knocking 1 star because of the pungent foot smell. But the food was so good and cheap, F$&k it.

    Very very delicious Banh mi!!! I had been meaning to check this place out and finally got the chance to this week. Similar to other reviews I read, I must agree the banh mi was full of flavor and super fresh! It was also pretty big in size compared to others I've had at different places. The Thai tea was mediocre and could've been a bit sweeter. I went during lunch and it was pretty poppin so be sure to order ahead if you're picking up.

    Pretty decent Vietnamese food at a reasonable price!

    We came in on a Wednesday afternoon around 3 PM and it was quite empty. The interior is spacious and airy, with lots of tables to choose from. We were seated quickly.

    Bo luc lac dat biet was good. The beef was soft & the sauce was flavorful. I initially thought $14.99 was a bit overpriced but I can easily it being 2 servings. It was served with bell peppers, onions, and mushrooms. Mushrooms were a nice touch & texture. It wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was worth the price for the amount given.

    Pho was also good. Portions were reasonably big and we left full compared to Pho Saigon.

    Overall, not a bad place, but also nothing to write home to mom about. Perhaps we will try their banh mi, which is their true specialty next.
